Trunk or Treat
Last week I attended my first Trunk or Treat as a Trunker at the El Dorado Hills community center. There were so many cute costumes. It was fun to meet other business owners, meet community members and bring my seasonal staging vision to life.
Here’s some pictures of my exhibit.
Here’s an overview of my creative process. I often mock up my ideas which helps make design and shopping decisions easier. Here’s my inspiration board.
Once I had the vision knocked out it was time to start on my homemade projects.
First up was the black wreath. I didn’t have larger twigs so had to make due with a smaller size. Next I purchased filler material. I spray painted everything black, then glued the pieces onto the frame. The larger pieces were secured with black wire strap from the dollar store. If I do this again I will use larger twig pieces but in this case I was a bit short on time.
Next I focused on the getting the pumpkins ready. I wanted white script on a black pumpkin, so I printed black script then attached it to a sticker sheet below and used scissors and an exacto knife to cut the shape and paste onto the pumpkin.
Here’s the result. If I do this again, I’ll go the easier route with a white pumpkin and black stickers.
I hope you enjoyed this post. If you were there and took pictures, would love to see them in the comments.
